About Melting Pot Arts
Melting Pot Arts, founded in 2004 are an innovative arts organization with an exclusive focus on the delivery of challenging and vigorous work with young people living in areas of Glasgow considered to be socially and economically disadvantaged.
Melting Pot Arts have also become well known for their fearlessness of tackling prevalent social issues head- on- using a variety of arts activities including drama, music, dance and visual art as a vehicle to do so.
The company have delivered a range of diverse, engaging and innovative projects in recent years. Amongst these are ‘Youthfusion’- an award winning Glasgow- wide theatre and multi-media project which reached over 750 young people across Glasgow during 2007 and 'interACT'- an interactive anti-sectarian theatre project which is now in its sixth successful year of touring schools in Glasgow.
The remits of the Melting Pot Arts are: To encourage learning and positive societal change through creativity To use the arts as a vehicle in exploring important issues relating to young people. To develop the confidence and social skills of young people with additional needs in Glasgow.
